Tina Fey and Amy Poehler try their hand at 'Les Miserables' style living singing during Sunday night's Golden Globes.
They rolled into the Golden Globes and killed with a thousand yuks.Â
And it took them only seven minutes at the start of the show to leave legions of previous awards show hosts in the dust. Fey and Poehlerpeppered the room with sharp jokes wrapped in warm and fuzzy smiles, like this one from Poehler: âThe Golden Globes, where the beautiful people of film rub shoulders with the rat-faced people of television.â
One of Poehlerâs best swipes came at the expense of Oscar-winning director James Cameron, whose ex, Kathryn Bigelow, directed a film about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
âI havenât really been following the controversy over âZero Dark Thirty,â but when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron,â she cracked.
In her own signature moment, Tina Fey addressed Anne Hathaway directly over her "Les Miserables" performance: "I have not seen somone so totally alone and abandoned like that since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars," she quipped.
Tapping the âSaturday Night Liveâ alums to host was a brilliant move from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Fey, 42, and Poehler, 41, took over for Ricky Gervais, who occasionally created an uncomfortable atmosphere with his pointed barbs.Â
In one of the eveningâs more surreal moments, Poehler took down Bill Clinton, a surprise guest who introduced a clip from âLincoln.â As he left the stage she bubbled: âOh my God! That was Hillary Clinton's husband!â
