For Bill Hader, life's just a beach.
The comic actor, now in his eighth season on "Saturday Night Live," is set to star in Paramount's movie remake of the iconic 1990s drama "Baywatch."
According to The Wrap, Hader will play the leader of the lifeguards, a role memorably filled by the muscle-bound David Hasselhoff.
The film adaptation, directed by "Reno 911!" co-creator Robert Ben Garant, will spoof the over-serious tone of the original series, tracing a platoon of lifeguard exploring a meth lab masquerading as an oil rig off the California coastline.

"They're so excited they made us shoot a trailer and the script isn't even done," said Garant, who is at Sundance promoting his mock horror film "Hell Baby."
Garant hopes to begin putting the movie together in April, but he already has a cameo lined up by David Hasselhoff himself.

The only element missing to this tongue-in-cheek homage? Pamela Anderson.
Though the original "Baywatch" babe will be making a cameo, she's reluctant to dwell on her past success.
"I think doing a movie sometimes ruins these really great TV shows," Anderson told the Press Association.
"And I don't want to play someone's mom."
