Robin Roberts says doctors are pleased with her recovery from a bone-marrow transplant.
Plucky âGood Morning Americaâ co-host Robin Roberts will reveal when she plans to return to the top-rated morning show, sometime âin the next few days,â she said Wednesday.
Roberts is expected to appear on âGMAâ â" via either a phone call, pretaped video or live satellite feed â" to make her announcement, sources said.
In a Facebook post early Wednesday morning, Roberts, 52, said her doctors were pleased with her recovery and she was âhumbledâ by all the attention that has been lavished on when she will return to âGMA.â
There have been reports speculating that Robertsâ recovery was going slower than hoped, but ABC News officials and Roberts have set no public timetable for her return.
âI am getting stronger every day. Iâm humbled by the speculation of my return to GMA. My family and I are grateful that GMA/ABCâs only concern is my full recovery. Itâs a great comfort not to feel pressured and a BLESSING to know I have a job waiting for me. Unfortunately, not everyone in my situation can say that.â
Roberts is recovering from a bone-marrow transplant that she needed to treat a rare blood disorder.
She has been off the air since Aug. 30, but posting updates about her health status on her blog, Twitter and Facebook.
Sheâs also called into âGMAâ to fill viewers in on her recovery.
âIn the coming days on GMA,â we will give you details about my return. Iâm so excited! Thank you for your patience and continued prayers.
âAll will be serene in 2013 XO,â she wrote.
For the transplant, doctors wiped out Robertsâ faulty immune system with chemotherapy.
Since then, she has had to remain in a sterile environment.
