Police are questioning Brooklyn Nets forward Andray Blatche about a sexual assault that allegedly took place early Tuesday in a Philadelphia hotel, a source told the Daily News.
A 21-year-old woman filed a complaint alleging that she was assaulted at the Four Seasons Hotel in Center City at about 4 a.m., CBS Philly said. The Nets are scheduled to play the 76ers in Philadelphia Tuesday night.
âWe are aware of the ongoing police investigation regarding a member of the Brooklyn Nets,â the team said in a statement. âWe will have no further comment until the investigation has concluded. All of our players are available for tonight's game.â
?The Four Seasons said in a statement that police responded to a call made by the hotelâs staff early Tuesday morning, and that hotel officials are cooperating with the police investigation.
A Philadelphia police spokesman confirmed to the Daily News that an investigation was underway. No criminal charges have been filed.
Blatche, 26, who is averaging 11.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, had his one-year contract guaranteed Monday by the Nets before the NBA's 5 p.m. deadline. He has started seven of the teamâs 34 games this season.
